Our regular reading group is based in Salford and meets twice per month at Islington Mill. We rotate which days we meet on to ensure a fair spread of participation. If you would like to come along or have any questions, please use our Contact Form!
We provide digital versions of every book we read and can provide loans of electronic reading devices.
We are also hoping to soon provide podcast-style recordings of our sessions for any members who cannot join. To this end we are currently raising funds for the necessary recording equipment. In future, we also hope to run hybrid sessions (half online, half in-person) as we are aware that work and childcare can make travel to Salford difficult for many of you.
Other projects: We continue to give out small writing grants on a case-by-case basis, decided by our committee and two independent trustees; the purpose of these grants can be anything from enabling a member to take a few days off to explore writing, i.e. by covering childcare, or paying for writing software like Microsoft Office.
As we are a small organisation with limited funds, and we do not actively fundraise, we are for the time being unable to offer anything more substantial — we can however assist you in making applications to funding bodies like the Arts Council.
